So this is Christmas...
It has been a long and terrific couple of days. Though it might not have started that way...
This picture was taken at about 11:30 PM on Friday night. I had been in the kitchen since 12PM. Many disasters were encountered (*slash* imagined), and some how, amazingly, and despite all my attempts at the contrary; everything ended up pretty good.
And what did I bake exactly? Well.. Banana Bread of course; finally got around to baking Dorie Greenspan's World Peace Cookies but with PB Chips; Maple shortbread-ish cookies, in both round and square varieties (more on that later); Butterscotch Blondies, Snickerdoodle Cupcakes with a boiled Brown Sugar Cinnamon frosting; and some pretzel chocolate fudge. Oh and fresh cranberry sauce too :).
I still don't understand how everything turned out so well. But regardless of my frustration going into it, Christmas Eve and Day were spent with a lot of food, family, and love. What more could any one person want?
So as tomorrow quickly approaches, and the Christmas carols are packed away for another year, I want to take the opportunity to say that I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and has an amazing finish to the year.
New recipes coming soon :).
Merry Christmas all!
