About Me

My name is Bob. I come from the net. Through systems, peoples and cities to this place: Mainframe. My format: Guardian, to mend and defend. To defend my new found friends, their hopes and dreams. To defend them from their enemies. They say the user lives outside the net, and inputs games for pleasure. No one knows for sure, but I intend to find out. Reboot!

Okay, not really, but it would be pretty awesome if that were true :). I won't bore you with my origin story again, you can read that in my previous About Me page below. Despite the media's insistence, I don't need to know how Batman became Batman every time the franchise is revisited. Not that I'm Batman, but wouldn't it be neat if I were.

My original intention for this blog was to carve out my own little niche in the densely populated food blogging arena. I loved to bake; I love to bake, but somewhere a long the way I got lost and decided not to update my blog if I didn't have a recipe to update with; despite the fact that one of the primary reasons I started this blog was to have an outlet for my writing as much as one for my baking.

My plan going forward is to perhaps focus on the nuttiness more than the baking; the ramblings over the recipes.

If you want to know more about me, take a read, it's all there.

Please don't hesitate to leave any questions or comments (I love to get them) in the corresponding post, or write me at adam@thebakersnuts.ca

I hope you like what you read and thanks for stopping by.

~Adam

P.S. The quote I opened this with is from Reboot. If you've never watched Reboot you should :).

Welcome to “The Baker's Nuts.”

This is the obligatory “About Me” page.

So who am I?

My name is Adam, I'm 29 30, I have a degree in English, I work as a computer programmer, and within the last couple of years I discovered that I have a love for baking. I'm not exactly sure how this happened but I do in fact know when it happened.

A few years ago for my birthday I wanted Brownies and I decided that I would attempt to make my own. After some questionable and doubtful looks from family and friends, I started searching for a brownie recipe and came across these Banana Brownies from Michael Smith (one of my favourite celebrity chefs, although I swear the recipe was slightly different when I made them). This led me to doing a bunch of baking for Christmas, Easter etc. I was hooked and took every opportunity I could to bake.

Around October of last year 2009 I made the decision that I would start baking every Saturday, and although I am usually quite a health conscious person with a self imposed restrictive diet, my weekly indulgence is what I bake Saturday afternoon. I am now obsessed with baking and love every second of it.

I am officially one of those people who when they don't bake they feel like they should.

So that's me in a nut shell :).
